ABOUT DELRAY MEDICAL CENTER'S EMERGENCY ROOM APPOINTMENT SERVICE:
Delray Medical Center announces the end of waiting! Now you can hold your place on line for the Emergency Room with the on-line InQuickER service.

Delray Medical Center has completed an $8.5 million dollar renovation of its Emergency Department. The number of examination rooms has doubled from 17 to 35 and each is a private enclosure with flat screen TV.

The emergency room is equipped with advanced technology and is a state designated Level II pediatric Trauma Center for south Palm Beach County. Other complicated patient needs are addressed because of the Delray Medical Center’s skilled and experienced physicians and staff and advanced capabilities in surgery, heart and stroke care, orthopedics, and other specialties. The Emergency waiting room has also doubled in size. While waiting, to help reduce patient anxiety, an in-wall fish tank has been constructed.

With the addition of the InQuickER service, you can choose any available time to see a healthcare professional and complete the registration process online. The fee: $9.95. You can then arrive at the Emergency Room at your projected treatment time and will be seen by a healthcare professional within 15 minutes or the online fee will be refunded.

It is important to note that if you have a medical emergency you should call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room immediately. InQuickER should only be used if the patient can safely wait at home with no risk to his or her health.

Delray Medical Center DaVinci Robot Milestone: Over 100 Procedures Performed

Delray Medical Center's DaVinci surgical system is among the most advanced surgical platforms available and has four robotic arms: one to hold and position a high resolution stereo endoscope and three others to control high precision instruments. The surgeon sits at a console, views 3D images of the operative site, and, through a few small incisions, can perform complex surgeries.

EndoWrist Instrumentation is an integral part of this system. EndoWrist Instruments are designed to provide surgeons with natural dexterity and a range of motion far greater than even the human hand. EndoWrist instruments come in a wide array of tips designed to facilitate procedures ranging from mitral valve repair to hysterectomy.

This advanced technology is being offered to Gynecology and thoracic surgical patients.

The photo below on the left shows Fernando Recio, MD, gynecology/oncology seated at the console of the affectionately named "Sami the Robot" DaVinci SI surgical equipment which is made in the USA and sold through Intuitive Surgical of Sunnyvale, California.  Below right photo from left:  Alliance President Bob Schulbaum, Dr. Recio, Alliance First VP Lori Vinikoor
